Hamburger Hobo Packs on the Grill

Hobo Packs are one of our favorite camping foods, so I thought I would try them at home on the grill, instead of the campfire. They turned our great! I will tell you how I made ours, but make these your own! Add the veggies your family loves. In fact, you can make each one custom-made for each of your family members! It is basically a hamburger patty seasoned how you like it, topped with evenly sliced veggies of your choosing, wrapped in foil and grilled! Easy and fun! When they are ready, open the foil and top with cheese if you like and eat it right out of the foil! It's a camping dinner right at home!

Here's what you need for 4 hobo packs:

1 1/2 lb lean ground beef

Cooking spray

salt, pepper, and any seasoning you like on a burger

Sliced vegetables to top each. Here's what I use:

Sliced small red potatoes

Green and red bell pepper

Sliced onion

Mushrooms

Optional shredded cheese to top

For each pack lay down two heavy duty pieces of foil. Spray the center of the foil with cooking spray. Form a burger patty, seasoning it however you like. Top with a mixture of sliced veggies that you choose. Spray lightly with cooking spray, and season with salt and pepper. Close up the foil all around the edges. Take another piece of foil and wrap over the top, folding it underneath. You can personalize each hobo pack with each family member's name on top with a sharpie if they are prepared with different ingredients for each person. Grill on medium-high heat for 25-30 minutes. Do not flip. Remove the entire pack with tongs. Open each one and sprinkle with shredded cheese while it's hot to melt. Enjoy!
