This was a huge success tonight in the Instant Pot! The beef tips were fork tender and seasoned just perfectly! This dish was made in about an hour and the traditional way would take a lot longer!
Here's what you need:
1 1/2 to 2 pounds sirloin beef tips ( I cut sirloin tip steak into one inch pieces)
8 ounces or more of thickly sliced mushrooms
2 T olive oil
1 onion diced
3 T flour
1/2 T garlic powder
1/2 t black pepper
salt to taste
1 T soy sauce
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1-2 cups beef broth ( depending on how much sauce you want)
Brown rice to serve
Fresh parsley to garnish
Set your Instant Pot to saute mode. Add the olive oil, beef tips, onion, garlic, salt and pepper and flour. Stir it until it is coated and browned. Then add the broth, the soy sauce, and the Worcestershire. Close the lid and make sure the pressure valve is closed. Use the Pressure or Manual setting on High Pressure for 30 minutes. It will take about 10 minutes or so to come up to pressure and start cooking. When it is done, release the pressure. Make a slurry of about 2 T cornstarch and cold water and stir in to thicken the sauce. I sauteed the mushrooms by themselves quickly on the stovetop and added them in at the last. This can be served over rice, or mashed potatoes or even noodles. The beef was so incredibly tender and my family wants me to make this again very soon! I was also able to use the leftovers to meal prep a few lunches! I hope you all enjoy this as much as we did! YUM!
