Instant Pot Butter Chicken


This Butter Chicken will quickly become one of your favorite recipes for the Instant Pot! This is a classic dish you will find at most Indian restaurants. It is creamy and full-flavored! Our whole family gave it a thumbs up!

Here’s what you need:

3 T butter

4 t minced garlic

2 T grated fresh ginger

2 t garam masala

1 t cumin

1 t paprika

1 t turmeric

1/2 t chili powder

1 t salt

1 15 oz can diced tomatoes

1 small can tomato paste

1/4 cup water

2 T honey

2 lb chicken breasts, cut up in bite sized pieces

1 cup heavy cream

fresh cilantro to garnish

cooked rice to serve ( jasmine, basmati, or brown)


Set Instant Pot to sauté. Melt butter and sauté the garlic and ginger for a couple of minutes. Stir in all the seasonings and salt . Turn off the Instant Pot. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato paste, water and honey. Add in the chicken. Stir well. Close the Instant Pot and set to pressure on high for 7 minutes. When it’s done, release the pressure. Stir in the cream. Taste and add more salt if needed. Serve with rice and garnish with cilantro. Delish!
